Replacement Process for
Commission Members

As of June 30, 2011 the terms of two Title Commission members will end. Requirements to be on the Commission include:

  • Be or have been licensed under the title insurance line of authority.
  • As of the date appointed, be or have been licensed with the search and escrow sub-line of authority for at least 5 years.
  • Have no more than one commission member from any given county in the state. Those members remaining on the board are from Tooele, Salt Lake Counties.
  • Have no more than one commission member from any single company.
  • Serve no more than one four-year term.
  • Receive no compensation or benefits except per diem and expenses incurred in the performance of the members' official duties. and
  • Meet at least once a month. Click here to see the 2011 meeting schedule.

To apply for a term on the Title and Escrow Commission go to http://gva1.utah.gov/boards/boards.aspx and click on, "Title And Escrow Commission," then the button, "Apply for Appointment to Board," and follow the instructions.

The cut-off date to apply is April 24, 2011.

Commissioner Gooch will review the applications and make recommendations to Governor Herbert, who will then give his recommendations to the Senate for confirmation during the May Legislative Interim meeting.
