Utah Insurance Department recently published Bulletin 2002-9

“Allowable Surrender Charge Schedules for Individual Deferred Annuities”

The Bulletin:

• Is addressed to Product Development Actuaries;
• Explains the Department’s position with respect to specific annuity contract designs;
• Was written in response to inquiries received by the Department;
• Is intended to provide guidance to companies offering annuities in Utah.
