Be wary of plans that:
t Offer unusually low
rates and require little or no medical prescreening;

Cover pre-existing conditions;
t
Are offered through a third party or broker purporting to represent professional associations, guilds or unions; and t
Avoid the use of the word "insurance" in sales and
marketing materials.
Be sure to: t
Verify the insurance carrier with your the State Insurance Department HERE; and t
Ask the agent or broker who is responsible for paying the
claims.
